First Step Is Realizing You Need Help. Second Step Is Finding It.

Last week Jeff Dowler CRS wrote a post, We Are Looking To You For Guidance. I really relate to what Jeff has to say as I would guess anyone in the real estate business would. There were two things in particular that really hit home with me.... "Unfortunately buyers and sellers don’t always realize they need help." As a Home Stager, I will replace "buyers" with "agents" because when it comes to staging it's agents and sellers that don't always realize they need help. It's not as surprising that sellers aren't aware of their need for help when it comes to preparing their house for sale. They have very little experience in real estate. It's the lack of awareness on the part of many real estate agents that surprises me most. A quick skim of your local mls will prove just how many agents don't realize they need help. With so much information available online, you would think that more agents would "get it". Maybe that's the problem. There's so much information available that they think they know enough...they think they know how to stage a home for sale. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.   "sellers have the right to make their own decisions, and hopefully informed ones, but they need to understand the implications of those decisions…" I tell my sellers that I will make suggestions on any and all things I see in their home that could influence potential buyers. It's up to the sellers to decide how much of what I suggest will actually get done. It's their choice what improvements will be made.Informing them of the implications of their decisions is a big part of the process.It's important that sellers fully understand how the suggested improvements could benefit them and how the decision not to make an improvement could cost them.You can read a specific example of this in my recent post  "What And How Are Just The Beginning - Why Drives Them To Action". Making informed decisions requires first realizing what you don't know, and then finding someone that does to guide you. Thank you Jeff Dowler CRS for inspiring this post!______________________________________________________________________________ Image may be NSFW.
