My Favorite Christmas Was Spent In The Hospital

My favorite Christmas memory? Spending Christmas in the hospital, of course! You have probably been enjoying, as much as I have, all the "Christmas memory" posts written this month. We have Kathy Streib to thank for all the great stories being shared.Kathy's December Challenge is to share a favorite memory or gift.Well, this one is a no brainer for me. My favorite Christmas memory just happens to also be one of my best gifts.  Every year my immediate family celebrated Christmas and opened our presents on Christmas Eve. We visited my grandparents and other relatives on Christmas day.Our Christmas Day traditions changed over the years. However, Christmas Eve, at my childhood home, remained a tradition until my parents retired and moved to Florida. From the time I was a baby until the time my parents headed South I only ever missed one Christmas Eve with my parents and siblings.  That was the year that I spent Christmas in the hospital. That was my favorite Christmas. I went into the hospital on Christmas Eve morning, in a great deal of pain. It was a very busy morning in Maternity and the delivery room was full. Kind of a "no room at the Inn" scenerio. LOLMy son, Joshua, was almost  born in the hallway. Less than 30 minutes after arriving at the hospital, he was born on a twin size bed in the doctors' lounge. At 10:54 am on December 24, 1982 I received one of life's greatest gifts.    Spending that Christmas with my husband and new son in the hospital is without question my favorite Christmas memory.______________________________________________________________________________      Creative & Unique Solutions...
