Between Youtube and Pinterest, there's no shortage of clever ideas out there to inspire diy Halloween projects....from the most basic to the most realistic.I've created some memorable costumes and scary props over the years. Halloween really brings out my creative side. This year I decided to make my own ghost. I wanted something more realistic than a hang a white sheet from the ceiling ghost so I headed to Youtube for ideas. I found an awesome tutorial. All you need to make this translucent ghost is a styrofoam head, clear trash bags, and clear packing tape.(See full tutorial below)The head was pretty easy to make....
But the body....that was a challenge.I don't have a dress form like the one the guy in the video has and I was home alone and didn't have another person to use as my body model. Use what you have, right?
That's right....a stuffed bear, wearing a stuffed bra was my ghost model. Sorry you had to see that. Once I finished wrapping my bear with packing tape, the body wasn't half bad.I attached the head, a skirt, and a veil and my ghost bride was complete!
I know....she is well endowed. It was not intentional. Too much stuffing in the bear's bra I guess. I asked my 4 year old granddaughter, Jacinda, to name the ghost, she named her Bubby.Appropriate, wouldn't you say? Since I have my own cemetery (came with the house),my daughter and I took Bubby out for a photo shoot.
Bubby is a natural, or should I say supernatural, in front of the camera.
Jacinda enjoyed playing with Bubby in the cemetery.
This dramatic picture was Zack's idea....."I'll pretend I'm really scared "
After all that running around outside, it was time for a snack....
a ghostly snack, of course! Full Directions for Making Ghost Written for: Haunted Post Parade ______________________________________________________________________________
